Alt = alternate

Approx = approximately

Beg = beginning

CC = contrast colour

Col A = colour A

Circ = circular

Cm = centimeter

Cn = cable needle

CO = cast on

Cont = continue

Dec = decrease

DK = double knitting

Dpn = double pointed needle

Est = established

Foll = following

Folls = follows

G = gram

G st = garter stitch

In(s) = inch(es)

Inc = increase

K = knit

K2tog = knit 2 sts together (right slant dec)

kwise = knitwise

LH = left hand

M1 = make 1, pick up the horizontal loop lying between st on LH needle and stitch on RH needle and knit into the back of it

MC = main colour

Meas = measure(s)                                                            

M = metre

Mm = millimeter

P = purl

Patt = pattern

Pm = place marker

Psso = pass slip st over

P2tog = purl 2 sts together

pwise = purlwise

Rem = remaining

Rep = repeat

Rev = reverse

Rev st st = reverse stocking st

RH = right hand

Rnd = round

RS = right side

Skpo = sl1, k1, pass slip st over

Ssk = sl1 k-wise, sl1 k-wise, place LH needle in front of both slipped sts & k2tog (left slant dec)

Sl = slip

St st = stocking stitch

St(s) = stitch(es)

Tbl = through back of loop

Tog = together

W1 = wrap1, with yarn at front of work sl next st from RH needle to LH needle, take the yarn to the back of work, sl the st back to RH needle.

Wyib = with yarn in back

Wyif = with yarn in front

WS = wrong side

Yb = yarn back

Yds = yards

Yfwd = yarn forward

Yo = yarn over

Yon = yarn over needle

Yrn = yarn round needle
